Crested Butte Vacation Travel Blog

Welcome to the Purple Mountain’s Crested Butte Vacation Travel Blog

To help you make the most of your vacation, this page is designed to give me an opportunity to share with you all that is going on in Crested Butte. As I get out on the trails or head out around town, I will periodically add my activities to this page. Feel free to make comments or ask questions. One of the big reasons I love running a bed and breakfast in Crested Butte is that I enjoy sharing all the great things that this town and the surrounding wilderness have to offer.

Crested Butte's Fall Beer & Chili Festival
September 10, 2011

Crested Butte Fall Festival (The Beer and Chili Festival)
This is a great festival to visit Crested Butte for. It is still small after all these years but that is just a bonus for those attending. With over 25 chilies to taste and 30 beers from all sorts of microbreweries you are sure to get your $25 worth of unlimited free tastings. This festival starts at noon and goes until 6pm with great bands playing the whole time.

Reno/Flag/Bear Trail
September 1, 2011

This incredible trail will get you breathing and I only recommend it as a mtn bike ride. It is a 20 mile loop out Cement Creek that offers mostly single track, three climbs with a total of 3,400 feet of altitude gain and finishes with a 32 switch-back descent.
